At the desert zoo we met a two year old blind owl named Einstien. The owl uses his hearing as his sight to navigate in his habitat. I was lucky to get this close up picture with my iPhone (Einstien didn't hear me).
If you're wondering what's protruding out of this poor owl's eye, it's just an illusion. There's a Bighorn Sheep statue in the background.
